Community First Fridays
On the first Friday of every month, the Utah Cultural Celebration Center hosts a special community event!
Mustangs: Utah’s Onaqui & Cedar Mountain Herds & We Are Humans Art/Book Talk
Join photographers and authors Robin Pendergrast & John Steele as they present two seemingly disconnected subjects: Utah’s homeless population and wild horse herds. Both are equally passionate about and advocates for each, presenting images and words that foster acceptance, awareness, and advocacy. The opening reception and art/book talk is presented as part of the Utah Humanities Book Festival.
Day of the Dead Foodways
Join Executive Pastry Chef Adalberto Diaz of Fillings & Emulsions and Jorge Fierro of Rico Brand as they prepare foods related to the Day of the Dead, and explore cultural food traditions that have helped shape their lives.
Nature & Rhythm Drum Circle
The Utah Cultural Celebration Center is delighted to present its September Community First Friday event as part of the month-long Get to the River Festival. Join us riverside where Nels Anderson of Drum Utah will lead an exploration of rhythm through drums and world percussion. Some benches and drums will be provided. Two drum circles will be presented, one starting at 7:00pm and one starting at 8:00pm.
This is a free, all-ages event.
Face of Utah Sculpture 20 Year Exhibit
20 Years! This artist awards and reception will be a celebratory retrospective of 20 years of sculpture at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, and the artists who have contributed to it.
Community First Friday: Festival Tri-National, A Celebration of Folkloric Dance
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
